Calcards was incorporated in 1996 in California with focus on design and integration of Smart Card systems for electronic data storage. Company has developed core competency in both contact and contact-less (today popularly know as RFID) systems for a variety of applications. In 1998 Calcards set up India development center to support customer projects in the US and later expanded to include business development resources to tap into fast growing markets in South Asia. In today’s emerging markets, Calcards is recognized as a key player in RFID deployment. Company has assembled a team of highly skilled engineers’ both in software and hardware domain to facilitate seamless integration. |

Early years were spent in incubating the technology through pilot trials and recognizing the revenues from engineering services. Leveraging this experience, company was able to develop a portfolio of intellectual property (IP) for RFID systems. Company is reaping the fruits of its labor by being an early participant in productizing this technology. Applications are developed based on references guidelines for data capture and reporting. Calcards has captured several major design wins in RFID based pre-paid card systems in energy sector in India and neighboring regions. Now the company is optimizing its technology platform for e-pedigree initiatives for biotech pharmaceutical & healthcare industry.
Calcards has developed portfolio of software kernels, operating system and hardware platforms and specializes in integrating front-end systems popularly known as edge-ware. Calcards’ value statement is to bring to market integrated RFID solutions including intelligent closures, readers, which allow enterprise wide tag commission management. Product and system definition is done in the US and design development is done in India. |

Mrs. Vidya Sirsi has business background with specialization in finance. She identified Smart Cards and its derivative ‘Contact less smart cards’ as Future Growth Area & established CCS, USA in 1996. Following this in 1998 she started CCSI (P) Ltd. specifically to cater the Indian market. In 2003 the company focus was shifted towards RFID. She was founding member of SCAFI (Smart Card Forum of India). She is also member of Transport advisory committee to NIC. |
